UNDERGY

The UNDERGY project aims to improve the competitiveness of underground storage of green hydrogen with the aim of managing surplus electricity from renewable sources and providing security of supply to the energy system.

One of the cornerstones of the UNDERGY project is to investigate the suitability of the Palancares deposit (operated by Trinity) as a potential seasonal storage site for green H2.

UNDERGY is supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) and funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU Fund. The project started in 2021, with an estimated duration of 39 months.
